30 Οκτ 2023 · The lower respiratory tract includes the larynx below the vocal cords, the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and the lungs. The lungs are most often considered as part of the lower respiratory tract, but are sometimes described as a separate entity.
Larynx. The larynx is a cartilaginous structure inferior to the laryngopharynx that connects the pharynx to the trachea and helps regulate the volume of air that enters and leaves the lungs (Figure 22.7). The structure of the larynx is formed by several pieces of cartilage.
