11 Οκτ 2024 · In May 2023, DHS announced new family reunification parole processes for certain nationals from Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, and their immediate family members, who have approved family-based petitions filed on their behalf by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Unfortunately, under current U.S. immigration law, many are quickly returned to their home country. But we believe that a better life is still possible—especially for children and young adults. Through compassionate individualized support, our Guatemalan repatriation program helps youth achieve their goals and build a brighter future at home.
Since February 2024, Guatemalan, Honduran, and Salvadoran parents and legal guardians living in the United States can seek to initiate CAM processing to sponsor their children and other family members to join them in the United States.
There are 6 steps in your application process: You must be over 18 years old and a national of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras or Nicaraguas. If you are not Guatemalan, you must have entered Guatemala before 16 July 2024.
Through CAM, parents and legal guardians can apply for qualifying children and certain family members in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras to travel to the United States with refugee status. Those who are not granted refugee status may be able to apply for parole.
