Calcium and Phosphorus Calcium in hay is at such a low level that the risks completely outweigh the benefits when it comes to how much or how often hay should be given to a guinea pig.

Bromsgrove (near birmingham) Nov 27, 2008. #1. ive just found Lincoln blowing out his nose. so hard that his jumping in the air. i picked him up to see what was wrong and there looked like tiny bits of hay in his nose. i tried getting them out but couldnt so took him upstairs to my OH so he could hold him while i did it.
6 Μαΐ 2018 · We have sadly lost our one-year-old guinea pig this week, after over £500 worth of vet's bills, and his cagemate died without warning only a few weeks before. They both came from the same breeder, but we have 2 other females pigs from her as well, and now we are worried that they could all have some genetic problem.

If in doubt, you can wash out the eye with saline solution (1 tsp of salt dissolved in 1 pint of boiled, cooled water). Any injury should be seen by a vet. I've washed her eye out and used the eye drops prescribed for Erin and Ena.

Alternatively, grind the pill in a mortar and then mix with an amount of water that is divisible by 4 (like 2 or 4ml of water). A small vet medication bottle is very handy for the job.
