Ensure a sheltered area is provided, thus protecting the guinea pigs from the elements. Guinea pigs are prey species and require bolt-holes (such as boxes or plastic pipes), with at least one per animal, to allow escape from intra-specific aggression. The enclosure should be predator proof.
