Then select how many frets the instrument will have. From there, click on the "calculate" button and the fret slot measurements will be displayed.
To determine the scale length of a modern guitar (without nut compensation), measure the distance from the front edge of the nut (where it butts against the end of the fretboard) to the center of the 12th fret wire.
