Getting enough Darkness was the real problem since you can gain very little from a normal run, so I developed this strategy to maximize Darkness gain on any escape attempt and by following it, I managed to reach the Resource Director’s final rank as quickly as possible.

Run chaos boon for upgraded rarity. 3-4 upgraded darkness boost could mean extra 70-90% darkness. Run weapon with 20% extra darkness. Re-roll when chaos doesn't give you darkness boon for 2 chaos gates. Give up and restart if hydra kill darkness is less than 250. Later phases are hard and gain is not enough to justify run.
