Justinian’s great building project of the Church of the Holy Wisdom (Hagia Sophia) was dedicated in 537 C.E. The dedication refers to Christ as the “Holy Wisdom” of God. In terms of both architecture and magnificence, this building represents the pinnacle of Byzantine building skills.
