31 Ιαν 2020 · Seth Warnock owns and operates Marathon Basin Wool Mill with his wife, Bonnie. They purchased machinery from the 1950s and taught themselves how to prepare and spin sheep wool, producing high quality wool for sale worldwide.
Buckethead Farms is dedicated to raising registered St. Croix hair sheep for breeding stock and producing market lambs for sale. We know each of our sheep and plan to remain a small scale farm so that we can keep it personal and friendly!
29 Ιαν 2024 · Instead of producing wool, hair sheep grow a mixture of hair and down fibers that shed naturally, eliminating the need for shearing. Their hair coat composition provides them with resistance to internal parasites, a quality highly valued by sheep farmers.
Katahdins are one of several breeds of sheep that are bred only for meat. They have a short, woolly hair coat that sheds each year (just like wild sheep do!), so they require no shearing.
