Halibut fishing has been fair to good for anglers traveling outside of Resurrection Bay, when weather has allowed. Anglers have been returning with catches of mostly smaller halibut, but fishing is beginning to slow down.
Halibut. Halibut fishing in the Seward area is typically good throughout June. Most fish are in the 20-30 pound range, with occasional catches of fish up to 200 pounds or more. Larger charter boats fish waters far to the east, including Cape Puget, Montague Strait, Cape Cleare, and Elrington Island.
