15 Ιαν 2021 · Hard chromium plating is a traditional surface electroplating technology, which is a thick chromium coating on various substrate surfaces. Its thickness is generally more than 20 μm. The characteristics of chromium can be used to improve the hardness, wear resistance, mild corrosion resistance and other properties of the parts.
In hard chrome electroplating, detecting defects is critical for addressing them before they cause structural unsoundness or breakdowns in industrial equipment. Poor-quality chrome plating can cause numerous difficulties, so effective hard chrome plating troubleshooting is essential.
One way is to do a hard chrome plating process using the electroplating method and then continue the heat treatment process.
One of the criteria is the thickness of the chrome layer, which must be from 0.3 mm to 0.4 mm. Another criterion is microhardness, which must be in the 900 - 1050 HV range. In terms of structure, the chrome layer must appear as a cohesive layer with a minimum amount of pores and cracks.
1 Αυγ 2018 · This work aims to compare the mechanical and tribological properties of hard chrome plated and WC-CoCr HVOF coated AISI 1045 steel for the use as hydraulic rods.
21 Ιαν 2005 · This paper reports some results on plasma nitrocarburizing of hard chromium plating and especially regarding the microstructures of nitride and carbide layers obtained by cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy.
