Does anyone forsee and issue with this barrel on 30.06 instead of 308? If so, suggestions for twist/groove/length?. I was also going to keep the old trigger but have the smith take in down to 3 or 2.5 lbs pull.

29 Δεκ 2018 · All barrels for a Remington model 700 will be required to be fitted to some degree by a gunsmith. If you choose a barrel such as the Shilen it requires the least amount of work as it is pre threaded with a cut chamber.

These gun barrels are button-rifled and are made to precision tolerances, double-checked at every step along the way. The barrels are made using the company's Medium contour, which features a straight taper from the breech to the muzzle. Each barrel is threaded with 5/8-24 TPI muzzle threads.
