Oltenia (Romanian pronunciation:, also called Lesser Wallachia in antiquated versions, with the alternative Latin names Wallachia Minor, Wallachia Alutana, Wallachia Caesarea between 1718 and 1739) is a historical province and geographical region of Romania in western Wallachia.

Oltenia, also known as Lesser Wallachia, is a historical region of Romania situated between the Danube River, the Carpathian Mountains, and the Olt River. The Olt was the border between Oltenia and Muntenia, which together formed Wallachia and united with Moldavia in 1859 to form Modern Romania.
