As far as I can see the Trinidad bus does not stop at the Terminal de Omnibus. (The Varadero bus goes that way.) Habana must signify the main Viazul base in Nuevo Vedado - Avenida 26 y Zoológico, Nuevo Vedado, Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba.
By train and bus, it takes approximately 7 hours and 46 minutes to travel from Havana to Trinidad. Another option is to take a ferry, which takes about 7 hours. Conversely, if you travel by car, it takes approximately 4 hours and 9 minutes to reach Trinidad from Havana.
I am thinking my preferred option is Viazul, but I have heard it is hard to arrange and that they are booked in advance. My next option (I think) is a collectivo. How do I arrange that? Do I just go to the bus station and try to find one when I need to go? Will I be likely to find one?
