Hawaiʻi Cultural Resource Information System HICRIS is SHPD’s web-based application that enhances customer service through online project review and submission, full GIS integration, access to Library materials, and real-time collaboration with reviewers.
2 Νοε 2020 · State and federal laws require the State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD) to implement a continuing and effective survey program that contributes to a well-maintained inventory of historic resources.
HICRIS is the integration of SHPD’s intake log, digital library, the State Inventory of Historic Places, and geographic information system. HICRIS can be utilized in many ways, but the two primary uses are: • Searching the database for information on Resources, Surveys, and Projects, and for searching the SHPD Library.
Submitting a Project Review . If your project requires comments or a determination letter from SHPD, you must submit it through HICRIS using the Project Review initial submission screen. This includes projects that are being reviewed under the following: • National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 • Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 6E

SHPD requires that these instructions be followed for all survey projects dealing with the built environment. This will
