15 Απρ 2016 · Heart failure is major health threat in the United States. In most studies, heart failure in women occurs in older age and with less ischemic causes. Women are ≈2× more likely than men to develop heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Women under age 65 — especially those with a family history of heart disease — also need to pay close attention to heart disease risk factors.
