Every 500 up to 6000 is a floor you can't drop below. 6500 is the first one you can drop below. There's no game play rewards from battlegrounds at all beyond xp, which is worse than ranked/afk mercenaries. Your BGs Rating vaguely matches your hidden mmr (more = tougher opponents). Plus there's a leaderboard!
Upon hitting each ranked floor in your climb, your Star Bonus will be reduced by one. When playing with a Star Bonus you’ll be matched by your matchmaking rating (MMR), meaning you’ll be matched even more precisely with players of your similar skill level when climbing!
1 Απρ 2020 · from what i gather, this seems to be correct: finishing on a win-streak grants you + 1 star. your MMR determines your bonus, and the rank floor is the multiplier (and the default star bonus). they lay it over the old system by placing everyone in Bronze league

The latter will be one-time bonuses for hitting a certain rank and will give you either Classic Packs or Classic cards (starting with Rares, then Epics, and finally Legendary for reaching Legend for the first time).
