Twitter exploded with readers informing Havrilesky, the author for many years of the Cut website’s popular advice column Ask Polly, that her work was a “sad, twisted confessional upchuck”, “a form of abuse”, she was “toxic” and urging her to seek either counselling or a divorce lawyer.
