US heating oil futures rose above $2.17 per gallon, rebounding from a recent four-week low of $2.14 on October 28th, amid signs of tightening US energy supplies. EIA data revealed an unexpected 0.515 million barrel draw in crude oil stocks for the week ending October 25th, against forecasts of a 2.3 million barrel build.

According to the EIA’s figures on national averages, national wholesale prices of heating oil remained between $3.0 and $3.4 per gallon for the 2013-2014 heating seasons. Those averages fell to $2.6 per gallon at the beginning of the 2014-2015 heating season, dropping as low as $1.8 per gallon.
