The best gear ratio for a semi truck to haul a heavy load is 4.11:1. However, this gear ratio is not good for fuel economy. A gear ratio of 3.25:1 is good for long-distance traveling without heavy hauling. A gear ratio of 3.55:1 is considered the best median level, for both good speed and torque.

22 Δεκ 2011 · The gear ratios for the Ford Super Duty trucks are 3.31, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10, 4.30. I am not absoutely sure of the 4.10/4.11, but is has been a good and common ratio for ever. The smaller the number, the better the mileage with these diesels.
