Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. English Standard Version.
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.
13 Ιουλ 2019 · PRINCIPLE: Christians receive reward for remaining true to God’s will under duress. APPLICATION: Receiving promises from God depends on endurance. The point is not the salvation of the soul but remaining true by faith to what God has said. We will see a long list of people who lived by faith in the next chapter.
