Because of man’s sinful nature, no one could keep the old covenant. Even the Ten Commandments are beyond our reach. Christ instituted the new covenant of grace.
We find this discussion in Hebrews 8:1-3. In this section, he highlights the three main attributes of Jesus as a high priest. First, Jesus is in heaven, not on earth. Nor is He tucked away in some insignificant suburb of the heavenly Jerusalem. Instead, He is seated at the right hand of God.

Let’s read the rest of today’s passage. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; therefore, it was necessary for this priest also to have something to offer.
