This is one of the central Illinois wineries that will keep everyone entertained and is a must-visit. Stay At The Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. Alto Vineyards, Alto Pass.
As for the wineries, we visited Owl Creek, Pamona, Kite Hill, Hedman, Alto Vineyards, and Von Jakob. While I recommend them all, my favorite was Owl Creek and my wife's was Pamona. We spent Sunday morning hiking in Giant City State Park, and afterwards were looking for a place to grab lunch.
We are located just 16 miles south of Carbondale and are surrounded by Shawnee National Forest. A proud member of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, the Peachbarn is where gourmet food is served with estate bottled Illinois wine.
