With hepatitis A, the infection is an acute one. That means that the virus only infects the body for a short amount of time, and then it tends to resolve on its own, usually within a couple of months. Hepatitis B, on the other hand, is usually an acute infection but can be chronic in some cases.

The poo has to contain the hep A virus. Hep A infection lasts a short time and most people recover quickly, but some get seriously sick.
Symptoms of all types of viral hepatitis are similar and can include one or more of the following: • Jaundice • Fever • Fatigue • Loss of appetite • Nausea • Vomiting • Abdominal pain • Joint pain
The virus is spread when blood or body fluid from an infected person enters the body of a person who is not immune. HBV is spread through having unprotected sex with an infected person, sharing needles or “works” when shooing drugs, exposure to needlesticks or sharps on the job, or from mother to baby during birth.
