5 Σεπ 2024 · Every time I boot up Norton is taking anywhere between 50% and 99% of CPU, and this is for hours at a time, not 30 seconds. It is becoming so bad that I have deinstalled, then reinstalled, but the same behaviour is present.
My annoyance with Norton is that 1) they keep adding unnecessary layers of authentication, 2) they misuse the privilege I’ve allowed them (and paid for it) to interrupt my precious screen with popups for products I keep refusing.
14 Οκτ 2023 · Over the last couple of days Norton 360 began constantly asking for full disk access for the Norton Extension. I do not have the Norton Extension active on any of my browsers and do not want to have it active as it interferes with the native protections on the browsers that I use.
So I've been using Norton 360 for years, but lately its been hogging about 16% of CPU and about 10,000 mb of memory with very high power usage. How can I stop this behavior? I am running some crypto mining in background but that doesnt seem to be the cause.
