6 Φεβ 2015 · Performance cams typically have durations ranging from 220 up to 280 degrees or more. The longer the duration, the rougher the idle and the higher the cam’s power range on the rpm scale. A cam with a duration of 240 degrees of higher will typically produce the most power from 3,500 to 7,000 rpm.

Camshaft #1 will have plenty of low and mid-range torque. It will also work well with the stock converter and compression. Camshaft #2 has excellent top-end horsepower. However, it requires at least 10.5:1 compression, a 3,500+ stall converter, and rear-end gears to get the best performance.
