Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at studentaid.gov to apply for federal, state, and college-based financial aid. Dependent students must include both student and parent data on the FAFSA.
Completing and submitting the FAFSA form is free, and it gives students access to the largest source of financial aid to help pay for higher education. It is faster and easier to fill out, with most students and families completing it in less than 15 minutes.
The final versions of the 2021–22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA ®) form, FAFSA on the Web Worksheet, and Student Aid Eligibility Worksheet for Question 23 are now available in English and Spanish, in Portable Document Format (PDF).
By paper/mail: If you did not provide an email address on your FAFSA, the U.S. Department of Education will send a copy of your FAFSA (called the Student Aid Report [SAR]) to the mailing address you listed on the FAFSA. Your FAFSA is also sent to the colleges you listed when you filled out the FAFSA.
