East Dubuque is a small city located in Jo Daviess County, Illinois situated on the Mississippi River across from Dubuque, Iowa. Population: 1,704 according to the 2010 census and are steadily increasing our area.
East Dubuque was originally called Dunleith, and under the latter name was platted in 1853. [3] The present name comes from the city's location east of Dubuque. [4] A post office was established at Dunleith in 1854, and the post office was renamed East Dubuque in 1879.
