Dashboard Confessional. The emo band Dashbard Confessional was formed in 1999 and separated in 2010. It is recognised as an important emo band of recent times. Jan 1, 2000. The Emo Revival: Self proclaimed emo bands revive the emo genre, but bring about great changes to it while doing so.
Good stuff. Stuff like Hüsker Dü kinda is proto college rock, too, which ironically was kinda post hardcore too, as the third Dag Nasty album (as well as the 7 Second albums from around that time) sounded quite a bit like it.
1 Μαρ 2023 · Emo, then known as emocore, first appeared in Washington D.C.’s hardcore punk scene in the 1980s. Cited as the first emo act, Rites of Spring took inspiration from the punk band Minor Threat and expanded upon hardcore conventions by combining rock with deep, sentimental lyrics.
