The Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum and Johnstown Flood Museum are CLOSED Thanksgiving Day (11/28) only! Otherwise we are OPEN regular business hours through Thanksgiving week and the holiday weekend.
2 Φεβ 2024 · A self-guided walking tour highlights the most notable buildings in the National Historic District of Downtown Johnstown, including many that survived the 1889 flood. The map and list of more than 15 sites is available at the Johnstown Flood Museum or online.
The museum includes a relief map that illustrates the path of the flood down the Conemaugh Valley by using light and sound effects. A featured exhibit is an original “Oklahoma House”, one of the first types of pre-fabricated temporary houses sent to Johnstown for flood survivors.
30 Οκτ 2024 · Ranger-guided Path of the Flood van tours are a great way to learn about the destructive force of the Johnstown Flood of May 31, 1889. The van tour takes place on select Saturdays throughout the summer months.
27 Σεπ 2022 · A Walk Through the Ruins will be offered daily at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, June 5, 2022 through September 25, 2022. This interpretive walk will last approximately 45 minutes and will take you to the bottom of the dam, through the breach and back up out of the dam on the other side.
