Killington is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,407 at the 2020 census. [3] Killington Ski Resort and numerous vacation lodges are located here. The town was previously named Sherburne, but was renamed to its original name, "Killington", in 1999.

1 Αυγ 2023 · It’s absolutely impossible to talk about the history of Killington town without addressing the beautiful and complete Ski Resort it holds. The one who took the credit for the great opening was Preston Leete Smith on December 13th, 1958.

Killington Village is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Killington, Rutland County, Vermont, United States, comprising residential development associated with Killington Ski Resort. As of the 2020 census, Killington Village had a population of 861, [2] out of 1,407 people in the entire town.
Killington may be a small town, but it’s got some big history. The town’s namesake is Mount Killington. The 4,241-foot Mount Killington is 900 million years old, older than the Alps, Himalayas and Rocky Mountains. Mount Killington is the second highest mountain in the Green Mountain range.
