11 Μαΐ 2007 · I picked up the new Hitachi 42" 1080i plasma about 5 days ago and wanted to share some of my impressions. I have pictures to post but since I don't have 5 posts, I can't do it. I'll get there real soon ;] I primarily picked this panel over the Panny 75 and Samsung 54 b\\c of the higher res.

My Hitachi P42H401 Was re-watching "The Adventures of Tin Tin" and thought I'd take some worthy pictures of my loyal plasma. Bought her in '07 at sears (when sears was still kicking), have played endless hours of playstation games and movies with very little problems with burn-in or image retention.
27 Ιαν 2005 · OK, the model reviewed in HT is actually the P42H401, but I suspect it's basically the same TV. Here's a quote from the conclusion: "Overall, the P42H401 is a solid everyday television.
Value: 93. • The price is on target with similarly sized 768p plasmas and LCDs—and it's $800 less than the only true 1080p 42-inch plasma available. Features: 88 Average. • Three HDMI inputs, including one on the front panel. • No computer input. • Includes internal ATSC/NTSC/Clear-QAM tuners but no CableCARD slot or onscreen program guide.
3 Σεπ 2007 · Why am I engaging in this debate in this particular TV review? Because the new P42H401 plasma HDTV is Hitachi's attempt to give people what they think they need—1,080 lines of vertical resolution—at a price they want: $1,700. On paper, the P42H401 has a 1,024-by-1,080 resolution.

However, I've always heard that Hitachi is just a slight notch below Panasonic and Pioneer in terms of quality in a plasma set. They always look good to my eye in a store setting.
