7 Οκτ 2024 · US869 is a dense propellant that allows the shooter to use enough powder to create maximum velocities in cartridges such as the 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum, 300 Remington Ultra Magnum, 30-378 Weatherby Magnum and others.
18 Νοε 2005 · If you look at the 300 RUM data, except for the 200 grain load (using that bullet it's worthless data anyway), those are starting load pressures. The best example is the 220 grain load. From their current manual: Starting load for H870: 101 grains, 2818 fps, 54,800 psi. Max load for US869: 101 grains, 2875, 55,200 psi.
6 Φεβ 2006 · Yeah, it's a ball powder. As soon as I get some more 169.5 gr .277" bullets from Richard, I'll be testing this out in my 270 AM. I'd like to try it in my 300 RUM w/the 240 SMKs, but the rifle already shoots .25 MOA w/Retumbo so I don't think I'll be messing w/it.
14 Οκτ 2007 · 869 is a spherical powder. It's very slow but it loads to heavier, high density loads. Very similar to Superperformance powder, in that SP is a more modern derivative of the same concept. Slow ball powder that's dense and heavy for the cases it works well in.
22 Φεβ 2013 · By Hodgdon's web data, retumbo, and 869 are the only powder going over 2600fps, they give it their blessing. For the cheytac rounds, there is no published data, I was on my own, I just tell people to use caution when using it, I may be out of line doing so. look in the reloading depot section, I'm sure there will be some members loads in there.
1 Νοε 2017 · Google search of reviews range from great works well, temp sensitivity issues, too slow of a powder for the caliber. I figure worst case I try a few loads and see if the rifle likes it. My end goal is accuracy and consistency over speed.
This spherical powder is superb with heavy bullets in big, over-bore, magnum rifle cartridges. Because it is very dense, it allows the shooter to use enough powder to create true magnum loads. US869 is also used in the 50 caliber BMG, where it yields high velocity and great accuracy with 750 and 800 grain projectiles. A truly great 1000-yard ...
