11 Οκτ 2017 · @pizton: If you have factory HID lighting in your 2005 Avalon, then yes, you're going to be using D2R HID Bulbs. Typically the stock setup will be a D2R 4300K Bulb (often a Philips one, like these), but if you can get it out you can have a look to see what you are dealing with for a replacement.
The wiring diagram will illustrate the connections required between the HID bulbs, ballasts, and your vehicle’s existing wiring system. It typically includes information on the power supply, ground connection, relay, and fuse.
If your vehicle is equipped with headlight dust caps, drill a 1"(24mm) hole to accommodate the wiring harness. Remove the xenon HID bulb from the protective casing. Be careful NOT to touch the bulb. Handle it by its plastic base.
