8 Αυγ 2024 · Essential oils such as clove, lemongrass, rosemary, lavender, and thyme can get rid of groundhogs. Mix 5 to 10 drops of these essential oils in a spray bottle with water (or apple cider vinegar, which they also find repulsive), and apply it around your garden.
Put a little bit of castor oil on a cotton ball and place it near the entrance of the groundhog burrow. The smell will turn off the groundhog, and they will eventually leave. An even better method is to make a homemade groundhog repellent spray by mixing one part castor oil with three parts water.
24 Μαρ 2023 · A study done by the University of Nebraska identified geranium oil as an effective scent repellent against groundhogs. You can mix 10-15 drops of something like Mary Tylor Naturals Geranium Essential Oil into a cup of water and place the mixture in a spray bottle.
Step One: Fill 4 oz glass bottle with alcohol free witch hazel, leaving a little space at top (takes about 1/2 cup to fill). Step Two: Add essential oils from one of the recipes below, or create your own blend from the bug repellent essential oils listed above. Step Three: Place top on and shake well.
