5 Ιαν 2021 · The Hong Kong Maritime Museum has achieved a remarkable coup with the recruitment of internationally renowned maritime history scholar, Dr Joost Schokkenbroek as the Museum’s new director.
The museum first opened to the public on September 8, 2005, under the leadership of its first museum director, Stephen Davies, as well as its board of directors and the trustees of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum Trust.

3 Αυγ 2020 · Shipping industry veteran Richard Hext has been appointed as the new chairman of the Hong Kong Maritime Museum. Among his other posts, Mr Hext, a long-time resident of Hong Kong, has non-executive director roles at Anglo Eastern Univan Group, and China Navigation Company.
The Hong Kong Maritime Museum will continue to uphold its mission of "Rooted in China, Looking at the World," 🌍 actively building bridges for maritime culture and international exchange to promote the transmission and development of maritime heritage and marine environment.
