Hope was named in honor of the daughter of James Loughborough, the Cairo and Fulton (railroad) Land Commissioner, who drew up the original plat. The City was incorporated in 1875. First settled in 1852, Hope is a thriving community located in the southwest corner (view in Google) of Arkansas.
