The result has been a unique and truly outstanding museum. Admission is free. All are welcome individually or in groups. School groups are particularly encouraged as there is much that today's youth will find of interest. Rotating displays will make your repeated visits worthwhile. It is your Museum and we hope you will take pride in it and visit.
The Hopewell Valley Historical Society was formed in 1975 by a group of citizens interested in preserving the rich heritage of the Hopewell Valley. We collect and preserve items relating to Hopewell Valley, sponsor public events to share our history, and encourage the preservation of historic sites. About the HVHS.

New Jersey militia troops served in the War of 1812, and when Oliver Perry won his naval battle on Lake Erie in 1813, all the windows in our town were illuminated with candles to celebrate.
