Hosta 'Hans Solo' is topped in late July/early August with sturdy 5.5' tall, light sabre-like spikes of deliciously fragrant, light lavender flowers. Hosta 'Hans Solo' is a tetraploid hosta (extra set of chromosomes), derived from a cross of Hosta 'Liberty' and a tetraploid Hosta 'Royal Standard'.
‘Hans’ has corrugated, puckered, and folded leaves with ruffling at the base forming large mounds. The glaucous blue-green edges turn to mid green and then to creamy white at the centre making this a tricolour Hosta.
