Hosta 'Hans Solo' is topped in late July/early August with sturdy 5.5' tall, light sabre-like spikes of deliciously fragrant, light lavender flowers. Hosta 'Hans Solo' is a tetraploid hosta (extra set of chromosomes), derived from a cross of Hosta 'Liberty' and a tetraploid Hosta 'Royal Standard'.
Originated by Hans Hansen of Minnesota this non-registered cultivar is a tetraploid hybrid of H. 'Liberty' × H. 'Royal Standard' which forms a giant size plant about 39 inches high by 76 inches wide. The leaves are very dark green and have thick substance.
Hosta 'Hans Solo' is a tetraploid hosta (extra set of chromosomes), derived from a cross of Hosta 'Liberty' and a tetraploid Hosta 'Royal Standard'. Topped in late July/early August with sturdy 5.5' tall, light sabre-like spikes of deliciously fragrant, light lavender flowers.
