Doxepin is a tricyclic antidepressant that is sedating; while it works as an antidepressant at doses of 100–300 mg, low dose preparations between 3 and 6 mg have been licensed as hypnotic agents. The impact of doxepin on PLMs was studied in a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial of patients with primary insomnia [31] .
