CDC recommends a single dose of RSV vaccine for older adults to help prevent serious RSV infection and hospitalization. RSV vaccination is recommended for the following adults: All adults ages 75 and older. Adults ages 60–74 at increased risk of severe RSV disease.
12 Οκτ 2023 · For now, only one dose of the RSV vaccine is recommended. So far, RSV vaccines appear to provide some protection for at least two RSV seasons. Additional evaluation is planned to assess how long the protection lasts and whether additional doses will be needed.

But they’re typically mild and only last a week or two. Most people are able to manage mild RSV symptoms at home with rest, fluids and acetaminophen (Tylenol, others).

That can cause pneumonia (lung infection) or bronchiolitis (swelling of small airways of the lungs). Lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV is more dangerous for infants and older adults.

Most infants will not need both. Administration of nirsevimab is recommended during October through March in most of the U.S.
