13 Ιουλ 2023 · Normal baby poo is soft, smooth and somewhere between quite runny and thick custard in consistency. Its texture can change from day to day, and poo to poo – and, if your baby is breastfed, can often be quite curdy (cottage-cheese-like) or grainy-looking too.
It's not necessary to continue keeping count after six weeks as long as your baby is happy and gaining weight. The number may vary from day to day, and that's perfectly normal too. Formula-fed babies typically poop three to four times a day, but some go as long as three or four days without a bowel movement.

It depends on the age of your baby, though, and whether your baby is breastfed, formula-fed or eating solid foods. All newborns start off passing sticky, greenish-black poo called meconium.
Stool frequency in babies varies, so don’t put too much stock into how many times a day your baby “should” be pooping. Babies can poop as frequently as every feeding or as infrequently as every two to three days.
