13 Αυγ 2024 · Looks is a good indicator of health. I know someone that's 60 years old that averages around 20-30G of protein per day. She mainly eats cereal and milk, jello and ice-cream. Cuts her appetite with diet coke and cigs.

As you can see, 1.8 g/kg (0.82 g/lb) is the point where additional protein intake stops providing any benefits. TL;DR. There is normally no advantage to consuming more protein than 0.82g/lb (1.8g/kg) of total body weight per day to preserve or build muscle for natural trainees.
1.6 g/kg of lean mass is the most you would need. Anything over that is just bro-science designed to sell you protein powder. I used to eat 1-2 g/lb of bodyweight, but I'm making much better gains now that I'm eating less protein.

The document below (download either as a google spreadsheet or Excel) shows an average protein intake of 1.46-1.8 g/kg/day across the 9 studies that I included. There are an additional 26 studies/links that I did not include in the average for various reasons.
20 Μαρ 2018 · That's 90g of protein right there . . in only 480 Calories. Premier Clear Beverage has only 90 calories, 1 Carb and 20g of protein. I usually add my BCAA and Creatine to one of these to sip during my cardio work outs (BCAA's help prevent muscle break down during cardio and fasted state workouts).

Some people say at least 500g of protein a day when on a bulking cycle, others say 250+ is unnecessary. I've also heard 1.5-2g per pound of bodyweight or per pound of LBM.
