He should do his best to “nurture and cherish” his wife in the love of Christ as he would his own flesh and tend to her spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs (Eph. 5:29; Col. 3:19).

He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hates his own flesh but nourishes and cherishes it.”
