4 Φεβ 2019 · Picture shows the scratch-built trestle and through-truss bridge on my 10'-by-5' layout that is the subject of an article in OGR Run 304. Both bridges are 24 inches in length, constructed from basswood, and easily removable from the layout.
6 Μαρ 2021 · The vertical wood frames that support a trestle, are called "bents." they are typically identically laid out, so you can use a jig to hold the pieces in exactly the same position for each bent. The jig can be plastic, if the trestle is to be made of wood, or vice versa.
You build the deck first, with straight segments of stringers that are angled to each other to fashion the correct radius. Then, with the deck upside down, but also supported at one end to approximate the grade, you glue bent frames upside down to the nether surface of the stringer deck...the one facing up.
