To unclog an AC drain line, turn off the power to the unit. Locate the drain line and use a wet/dry vacuum to suck out the clog. Flush the line with water using a garden hose or cup of water. Check and clean the drain pan under the indoor unit. Ensure water flows freely through the line.
Step 1. Disconnect the air conditioner from electrical power by turning off the breaker and the thermostat. Always disconnect electrical appliances from power if you want to clean them or make any repairs. Step 2. Find the drain line; it is usually a pipe running out from the inside unit and is close to the condensing unit outside the house.
