The area inside the walls is too open for efficient breeding early. You need to keep the lox near one another to make babies quickly. The area inside the walls fills up before you have enough lox to actually defeat Yag and they stop breeding.
The best way I have seen so far if you can't parry kill them is to jump on top, equip your pickaxe, and mine them to death. You just have to jump when they do the AoE attack. I had just killed the elder and roamed in the plains to explore. I saw a lox and understood it was far too strong to fight at that point.

Maxed iron shield and a spear. Done. Arrow them once or twice to get their attention (and the sneak attack bonus damage), then parry/stun + combo. You can get all 3 combo hits in with a Porcupine before they're unstunned, possibly 4 or more hits with a spear.

2 Απρ 2021 · loxes are very hard to kill, and i am the one with the tower sheild, which cannot stun. so throw away you sheild, and do it my way instead! 1: shoot an arrow at a lox. 2: run towards the lox with any pickaxe. 3: jump on the lox. this requires a high jumping skill.
