    While a driven well may not produce as much water as a drilled well, it should be able to produce five gallons per minute of water flow. Connect a pump to the well and see how much water you can get out of it.

  6. To properly drive your well point, the entire point must be below the water table or else the pump will only suck up air. Something to keep in mind, is that the water table will eventually lower as the pump runs, so the point will have to be lower than what the pump can draw the water table down to.

  7. To drive point use either a sledge hammer or a 2" or 3" pipe with a weighted end, also called a steel post driver. A pipe driver can be made by filling a 4' or 5' long pipe 1/3 to 1/2 full with lead. Drive the well point and pipe into the earth. Remove the drive cap and add pipe as desired.
