15 Φεβ 2016 · The Hebrew word for encourage is yithechazeq. This is in a Hithpael form. It is reflexive. He took it upon himself to encourage himself – in Jehovah, his God. This word is from the root chazeq which means to strengthen, but this is a strengthening like becoming a rock. In its Semitic root it has the idea of binding.
I often spend hours on a single word, trying to pin down exact meanings, as far as that is possible. It is now posted here with the hope that others may be blessed by God’s word. Almost all of the Biblical Hebrew language that I know, I have learned from reading and rereading the Old Testament in Hebrew and Aramaic.

How to spur one another on what language, to see yourself in relation to other Christians in this way today. Who can you stir up to love and good works?
4 Ιαν 2022 · Encouragement gives hope (Romans 15:4). Encouragement helps us through times of discipline and testing (Hebrews 12:5). Encouragement nurtures patience and kindness (see 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and Galatians 5:22-26). Encouragement makes it easier to sacrifice our own desires for the advancement of God’s kingdom.
16 Ιουλ 2021 · Look again at Hebrews 10:24, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works” (NLT). The word “motivate” (paroxusmos) is a strong word which literally means to sharpen and figuratively speaks of sharpening of one’s mind or to stimulate to do some action.
To encourage is לְעוֹדֵד (leh-oh-DED). It loosely fits into the פיעל (pee-EL) “active-intensive” form. Encouragement is עִדוּד (ee-DOOD) or חִזּוּק (khee-ZOOK), coming from the word for strong – חָזָק (khah-ZAHK).
3 Απρ 2020 · Psalms 106:1 “Hallelujah, O’ give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good.”. David says to “Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good.”. When we thank someone, it is for something that they did not have to do but chose to do it.
