You get maybe 2.5 boss materials per run in late game and you need 46 to max a character, that's 18.4 runs. To max a character with gems/chunks etc. you need 6/9/9/1, which is 271 small slivers. You need 14.7 slivers per boss to keep up with the boss materials.

My suggestion would be a domain with a weekly rotation of what elemental gems you can earn (Monday you can get Agnidus Agate, Tuesday Varunada Lazurite, etc. with Sunday having all 6 be an option), and better drops the higher level you are (as in, chances to get chunks and gemstones at level 70/80/90 for example).
17 Σεπ 2021 · Fragments require Adventure Rank 25, Chunks require Adventure Rank 35, and Gemstones require Adventure Rank 45. To get all four Brilliant Diamond rarities, just get to a specific Adventure Rank, then go to the Adventurer's Guild in Mondstadt or Liyue and claim the reward.
